MINSK, 6 August (BelTA) – Belarusian Education Minister Andrei Ivanets revealed some preliminary results of the 2024 university admissions process as he spoke to the media on 5 August, BelTA has learned.
“This year's entrance scores for a number of specialties are quite high, despite the fact that the total number of free-tuition places has been increased by almost 3,000, primarily for the most demanded specialties - teaching, engineering and healthcare,” Andrei Ivanets said. “Today, as promised, we have given an appropriate educational trajectory for college graduates, who got a chance to complete a shorter course of study at university.”
According to the minister, more than 4,5000 talented children entered universities without exams or out of competition.
“This year we have increased the enrollment of employer-sponsored students by more than 1,000. This is also a very important moment, as the requirements to the average final grades for school students who applied for employer-sponsored education have been considerably tightened,” Andrei Ivanets added.
