MINSK, 30 May (BelTA) - Belarus corrected mistakes and improved the exam system, Belarusian Education Minister Andrei Ivanets said during a meeting with the head of state on 30 May, BelTA has learned.
"We remember the mistakes made two years ago. Last year, we corrected them and tested the revised system, and this year, it has proven its effectiveness," the minister stated.
First, scanned copies of students' exam papers are now available in their personal online accounts. “Every student is able to review their work. The grading system is published on the Education Ministry’s website. It has remained unchanged for two years. Before the official results are announced by the Republican Institute for Knowledge Control, students can calculate their scores themselves and compare them afterward [with the official results],” Andrei Ivanets said.
Secondly, centralized testing and centralized exams are now conducted on fixed dates, ensuring that graduates from this year and previous years have equal conditions, Andrei Ivanets explained.
The minister noted that the state commission has received around 50 requests, mostly related to re-registration. "If students or their parents wish to change a subject before the exam, they can contact the state commission, which usually accommodates such requests," he stressed.
Another important update is that students are now allowed to bring medications to maintain their health during exams. This includes, for example, students with diabetes.
