MINSK, 13 January (BelTA) – The European Commission (EC) expressed concerns over the UAV attack on the TurkStream gas pipeline, RIA Novosti reports.
Any attack on energy infrastructure raises concerns, EC spokeswoman Anna-Kaisa Itkonen said during a briefing in Brussels.
As it was earlier reported by TASS, the Russian Defense Ministry said that on 11 January, the Armed Forces of Ukraine attempted to attack the infrastructure of the Russkaya compressor station in Krasnodar Territory, using nine drones. The station supplies gas to the TurkStream pipeline.
The Russian defense ministry pointed out that the attack aimed to stop Russian gas supplies to European countries. The country's air defenses shot down all Ukrainian drones. No casualties or damage were recorded. At the moment, the compressor station is operating a good service and there are no disruptions in operations.
