MOSCOW, 12 October (BelTA) - Heads of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states are set to adopt a statement on the climate agenda at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council which is due in Minsk on 14 October, Member of the Board (Minister) for Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission Andrei Slepnev told a press conference on 12 October, BelTA has learned.
“The EAEU summit will take place in two days. Our presidents are expected to meet. One of the topics they are to discuss, the central one, will be a rather ambitious statement on the climate agenda,” said Andrei Slepnev.
He did not disclose the details of the document. “Let us wait a little, there are only two days left. We already know that it will emphasize a number of specific positions important for the union and for the external audience,” the EEC minister added.
