The My Belarus exhibition has opened at the International Exhibition Center in Minsk. The exposition occupies an area of over 30,000m2. Deputy Chairperson of the State Committee on Science and Technology Tatyana Stolyarova told BelTA about the most interesting innovations featured at the expo.
“The main idea of the Smart City cluster is to show that high technologies penetrated all areas of our life. Almost every digital solution is interactive, and the exhibition participants can try these solutions themselves,” Tatyana Stolyarova remarked.
The cluster consists of four thematic zones: innovative technologies of the Smart City ecosystem, smart apartment, electric transport, innovative healthcare. More than 40 developments are showcased at the thematic exposition. The stand has interactive screens that visitors can use. The screens also show presentations about the latest smart city technologies.
The cluster features organizations that make part of innovative infrastructure, resident companies of the High-Tech Park, organizations of the Ministry of Communications and Informatization, industry giants and private businesses.
Smart Apartment
“New technologies have already become part and parcel of our life, smart gadgets help us deal with everyday affairs much faster. To understand how things work, a smart apartment model has been presented for visitors. To gain access to this area, visitors need to go through a smart intercom that can be managed through a phone. The smart apartment has stands with various sensors and smart devices; when they work as a single system, routine tasks are no longer perceived as annoying or tiresome,” the deputy chairperson of the State Committee on Science and Technology said.
A smart city is not worth its name without smart public transport. Visitors to the exhibition have the opportunity to see a smart stop and its numerous additional services. For example, while waiting for a bus, people will be able to charge their mobile devices and use free Wi-Fi. The stop also has an information panel (smart board) that provides real-time data on public transport movement.
Electric car and agrodrone
An electric car has been placed in the electric transport zone. “If you want to use an environmentally friendly vehicle, you need to know how to charge it. For this purpose, electric charging stations from various Belarusian manufacturers are presented next to the electric car. For example, at the Vityaz electric charging station you can charge not only electric cars, but also other electric vehicles - electric scooters, electric mopeds, electric motorcycles,” added Tatyana Stolyarova.
Visitors have the opportunity to study a life-size sample of an agrodrone. Its software allows setting flight tasks directly on the control panel screen without using a personal computer.
Innovations in Medicine
“Technological advancement opens up new opportunities in public healthcare. This includes the digitalization of medical data, the development of mobile devices capable of monitoring and showing medical indicators online, the development of cloud services that store and process information, and the introduction of artificial intelligence that helps doctors quickly make the right decisions,” said the deputy chairperson of the State Committee on Science and Technology.
The Innovative Healthcare Zone presents the latest and most advanced solutions in healthcare. Visitors can learn more about their health status in real time with the help of a portable digital biometric device that uses a smartphone application for dynamic self-monitoring of health. Patients do not need any preparation for this examination and this device can be used in in-patient and out-patient settings. The examination takes no more than 5-7 minutes. It allows medics to save and compare data of each examination for a long time.
Visitors can also undergo a quick check-up using a telemedicine health monitoring system at the OSMOTR+ stand. The system is based on artificial intelligence solutions. There are no analogues of this solution in Belarus.
Activities for children and adults
One of the highlights of the exhibition is the Immersive Presentation Zone. While in this zone, visitors will be able to get a feel of living in a smart city, try virtual reality solutions.
“The future of the country belongs to our children. Various events are to be held within the framework of the Smart City cluster in order to get children interested in technology and to show them that high technology is everywhere. For example, a smart road for mini-cars that children will be able to ride, smart pedestrian crossings for crossing the smart road, smart barriers,” noted Tatyana Stolyarova.
Elementary school children will be invited to take part in a quiz Science to Help People. The quiz Science and Technology will help schoolchildren of grades 6-9 refresh their knowledge and learn something new about scientists and the achievements of domestic science. Schoolchildren of grades 10-11 will be able to take part in a scientific fair Question and Answer to check their logical thinking and ability to conduct simple scientific analysis.
Undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students and university teachers might also be interested in visiting the Smart City cluster where a quiz on intellectual property will be held.
“The exhibition offers an opportunity to familiarize oneself with the achievements of Belarus in recent years and feel proud of your country,” Tatyana Stolyarova concluded.
