MINSK, 17 July (BelTA) – A meeting of the expert group on planning the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held at the CIS headquarters on 16 July, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the Secretariat of the CIS IPA Council, the CIS Interstate Statistical Committee, the Interstate Television and Radio Broadcasting Company Mir, the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation.
The experts reviewed the proposals on the draft program and, following a discussion, agreed on the document. It will be submitted for consideration to the CIS Economic Council in line with the established procedure.
The draft program includes several dozen events, including organizational, scientific and practical events, as well as economic and humanitarian events. These include holding an anniversary meeting of the CIS Heads of State Council and adoption of a statement on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the CIS, holding a CIS Week in the Commonwealth states, broadcasting television programs and documentaries dedicated to the anniversary, holding a Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia, a single lesson in educational institutions, exhibitions and expositions, games and tournaments in various sports.
