MINSK, 12 January (BelTA) – The 23rd edition of the national tourism contest Discover Belarus 2025 will start on 1 February, BelTA learned from the National Tourism Agency.
Applications will be accepted until 30 September. There will be 13 nominations: I am Discovering Belarus, Tour Guide of the Year, Tourist Agency of the Year, Accommodation of the Year, Sanatorium of the Year, Farmstead of the Year, News Piece of the Year, Museum of the Year, Photography of the Year, Eco-tourism Facility of the Year, Industrial Tourism Facility of the Year, Religious Tourism Facility of the Year, Event of the Year.
As noted by the National Tourism Agency, Discover Belarus is not only a prestigious contest, but also an important tool to boost the competitiveness of the tourism market. It rewards services to the industry, and highlights various tourism brands. In addition, the competition is meant to promote active leisure, a healthy lifestyle, historical, cultural and natural heritage of the country, increase the prestige of working in the tourism industry and encourage the use of modern technologies.
In 2024, 1,772 applications were submitted (835 in 2023). The most popular nominations were Photo of the Year (484 applications), I am discovering Belarus (431 applications) and Event of the Year (146 applications).
The award ceremony will be held in December 2025.
The competition is organized by the Ministry of Sports and Tourism and the National Tourism Agency.
