Diplomatic spouses donate furniture to Belarus’ special needs school

MINSK, 20 March (BelTA) – On 20 March, the Minsk International Women's Club, an organization of spouses of ambassadors, diplomats and foreign representatives, donated a set of furniture to the Begoml Special Needs Boarding School in Dokshitsy District, BelTA has learned.

Ninety-two students live and study in the educational institution, including children with special needs. The Minsk International Women's Club donated ten beds with orthopedic mattresses and two closets made to order by Postavymebel.

“We arrived to an incredibly warm welcome at this boarding school,” said Sofya Darova, the head of the Minsk International Women’s Club, the wife of Kazakhstan’s ambassador. “These children are amazing, talented, open-minded, and kind. We received a lot positive emotions from this meeting.”

“This is not the first charity event arranged by the Minsk International Women’s Club in 2024. Earlier, the club donated food packages to an organization of young people with disabilities, office equipment to Minsk Special Needs Boarding School No. 10, medical equipment to the Borisov Orphanage for Children with Special Needs, and an interactive panel to a kindergarten in Minsk,” the club added.

Members of the Minsk International Women’s Club represent about 30 countries. The club has been conducting charity events in various regions of Belarus for three decades already.
