Diplomat: Sanctions hamper Belarus' efforts to honor sustainable development commitments

MINSK, 14 September (BelTA) – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikolai Borisevich took part in the opening ceremony of the international conference “Impact of Global Economic Challenges on Social and Labor Rights” arranged by the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.

Nikolai Borisevich noted that unilateral coercive measures are counter-productive and hamper Belarus' efforts to honor international commitments in the field of sustainable development. This matter had also been discussed at a session of the Council for Sustainable Development chaired by national coordinator Anatoly Isachenko on 9 September.

During the conference, the deputy minister also drew attention to the initiative of the head of state to launch a global dialogue on security with a view to creating a stable, fair and predictable world order and eradicating the practice of using unilateral coercive measures.
