Dimash Kudaibergen from Kazakhstan leading at Vitebsk 2015 Song Contest

VITEBSK, 13 July (BelTA) - Dimash Kudaibergen from Kazakhstan retained the leadership in the final of the International Song Contest Vitebsk 2015, scoring the most points - 175, BelTA has learned.

The audience and the jury were captivated by a wide range of his unique voice, the intelligence and humbleness of the singer. He chose the French song "Sos d'un terrien en detress” for the second day of the final and demonstrated his talent to the fullest.

“The hardest part was to select a song in the Slavonic language for the first day of the final. All Slavonic songs are very beautiful. I know only one Belarusian song and it is Belovezhskaya Pushcha. I really love it and initially wanted to sing it. But then I changed my mind. The original execution of the song was ideal, and there is no place for imagination,” Dimash Kudaibergen confessed. 8 out of 9 jury members gave him the highest number of points possible (10) on the first day of the final. Thus, the singer from Kazakhstan scored 89 points out of 90 possible. Dimash performed the song “A blizzard again”.

After two days of the contest the top five contestants include: Belarus' entry Valeria Gribusova (171 points), Nikolay Manolov from Bulgaria (163), Anitt (Ana Tverdostup) from Ukraine (160), and Sofi from Georgia (158). The winner will be announced during the awards ceremony at the closing ceremony of the Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk tonight, 13 July.
