MINSK, 14 November (BelTA) - Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Dima Bilan recalled his first trip to Belarus for the Slavianski Bazaar festival during a press conference in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
The singer shared that at the time he had literally only recorded one album. He said the meeting with Belarusian journalists was very warm, adding that he was thrilled by the country. “My most recent concert [in Belarus] was also unforgettable. The audience here is very responsive and cultured; I would compare it to the one in St. Petersburg,” said Dima Bilan.

The singer also spoke about his work with Belarusian artists on the show The Voice: “During my time on The Voice I had five contestants from Belarus. All of them are pursuing creative work now. They have their own projects, and each is finding their own path.” According to the singer, Belarusian performers “are distinguished by their kindness and diligence, and at the same time, they are well-grounded people who know their own worth”. “Of course, there were also disagreements and discussions over which material and songs would sound best in their performance,” he added.

Before the press conference, Dima Bilan met with Belarusian Culture Minister Ruslan Chernetsky. The parties touched upon the topic of exchanging creative ideas and drawing attention to social issues. The singer noted that some ideas had emerged which might be realized next year. “I think we will always be able to find common ground, especially since we have many shared themes. We speak a language we both understand, so we will be able to come up with something interesting,” said the singer. He announced plans to create an international music project that would include representatives of various nationalities, including Belarusians.
