MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) – Belarus-Azerbaijan relations have growth potential in all sectors, Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vadim Ipatov said, BelTA has learned.

The parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Belarus led by Chairperson of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova is in Azerbaijan on an official visit. The Belarusian parliamentary delegation includes Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Vadim Ipatov. The key events of the visit are participation in a session of the Executive Council of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly and the 15th Plenary Session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly. During the official visit Chairperson of the Council of the Republic  Natalya Kochanova met with Speaker of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova.

In order to make the most of bilateral cooperation, it is vitally important to implement existing agreements. The interaction between the parliaments of Azerbaijan and Belarus can contribute to this in many ways, Vadim Ipatov noted. “The speakers of the parliaments took stock of bilateral cooperation that is based on friendly relations between the heads of state and identified growth points in economic, cultural, trade and industrial cooperation. This will allow us to create more jobs and ultimately improve living standards of our people,” he added.
