MINSK, 13 June (BelTA) - The strategic task is to do our best to convey accurate information about Belarus to international audiences, Marat Markov, who was appointed Information Minister of the Republic of Belarus, said when asked by BelTA.
"The strategic task is to do our best to convey accurate information about Belarus to the outside world," the minister said. “We do not have many tools for this. One way or another, most of these tools are controlled by the enemy, let's face it. This must be taken into account. Despite huge number of subscriptions, huge coverage and viewership, we can be blocked or shadowbanned any time, and this must be taken into account in our work."
Marat Markov also noted: "But we might have some leeway, which, I think, we will use in the future. There are new international associations that are not subject, let's say, to this kind of ‘democratic’ influence."
"There are the SCO and BRICS countries, there is the Union State, the EAEU. We need to work within the framework of these associations and create or improve the information tools that operate in these associations and use them to reach international audiences," the minister said.
"I think the ministry will need to step up work with similar structures in friendly countries and this is what we will be doing," Marat Markov noted.
