
MINK, 29 July (BelTA) - An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was detected and intercepted in the Belarusian airspace, BelTA learned from the Defense Ministry of Belarus.
"At approximately 02:00 on 29 July, the air defense forces detected and intercepted an unidentified aerial target violating the established procedures for the use of airspace in the Republic of Belarus, which was identified as a UAV. As a result of electronic warfare countermeasures, the UAV crashed near house No. 72 on Matusevicha Street in Minsk at 02:33. There were no casualties," the Defense Ministry informed.

The Defense Ministry also stated that, in light of this incident, additional measures are being promptly implemented to strengthen the airspace usage control. An investigation into the matter is underway. The head of state is monitoring the situation.
