MINSK, 22 February (BelTA) – Belarus’ Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin told the Rossiya 24 TV channel how the military will respond to the violation of the country’s airspace, BelTA has learned.
According to the defense minister, six incidents of breaching Belarus’ airspace have been recorded since August 2023 alone. “We respond to all such incidents. When necessary, our combat aircraft are scrambled and anti-aircraft missile forces are brought to readiness. If they go off the rails, of course, we will not hesitate to down them,” said Viktor Khrenin.
