ST PETERSBURG, 18 July (BelTA) – Decisions on cancelling roaming charges between Belarus and Russia will be made in August. Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich made the relevant statement at a meeting of top administrators of Belarusian regions and Russian ones on the sidelines of the 6th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, BelTA has learned.
According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, Belarusian mobile carriers understand the problem. Concrete decisions will be made at a meeting in Polotsk on 2 August, he added.
In turn, Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko said the Russian side was ready. In her words, the problem will be resolved by 15 September.
The upper chambers of the Belarusian and Russian parliaments will keep an eye on the matter.
