CSTO Military Committee to discuss security challenges and threats

MOSCOW, 18 November (BelTA) – The Military Committee in charge of the development of military cooperation of the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will hold a meeting on 19 November via a video link, spokesman of the CSTO Joint Staff Vladislav Shchegrikovich told BelTA.

"The Military Committee will discuss challenges and threats to military security in the regions of collective security, the main areas of the development of military cooperation of the CSTO member states in the medium term, and also the joint training of the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) in 2021," the spokesman said.

Members of the Military Committee will be informed about the working meetings of the medical services of the defense departments of the CSTO member states and about the results of the first stage of comprehensive research work to improve the CSTO Collective Military Air Forces.

The meeting will be led by Chairman of the Military Committee, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation - First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Valery Gerasimov. The meeting will be attended by the chiefs of General Staffs of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, the first deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan, the chief of the CSTO Joint Staff and also CSTO Deputy Secretary General Piotr Tikhonovsky.
