MINSK, 20 June (BelTA) – Astana played host to a regular meeting of the working group on electronic warfare at the CSTO Defense Ministers Council, BelTA learned from the CSTO press service.
The event, chaired by the head of the electronic warfare troops of the Russian Armed Forces Yuri Lastochkin, brought together representatives of the defense ministries of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation of Russia. The meeting was also attended by a group of officers of the CSTO Joint Staff led by the head of the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) Planning and Training Center Anatoly Yakovlev.
The parties discussed the experience of using electronic warfare forces and means in modern armed conflicts, the study into the organization of the joint use of electronic warfare units as part of the Vzaimodeistviye 2023 [Interaction] exercise of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces and the prospects for the development of military-technical cooperation in terms of the use of compatible models of electronic warfare equipment.
Following the discussion, it was recognized as expedient to further improve the CSTO legal framework in the field of electronic warfare.
