MINSK, 11 April (BelTA) – The current political situation in the world has in no way affected relations of the cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky and foreign colleagues, BelTA has learned.
Oleg Novitsky told BelTA in an interview: “The current political situation has not affected my relations with foreign colleagues. All of us are professionals. Moreover, we understand perfectly well at what orbital facility we work. The flight program expects all members of the crew to work together. Regardless of where they are from: the USA, Europe, Japan, and so on. We work as a tightly knit team, as one crew.”
Oleg Novitsky added that people in orbit try to avoid the topics that may lead to discomfort. “Politics is not often talked about in outer space. There are unwritten rules. We try to avoid hot topics like religion, politics, or family. Unless someone wants to starts talking about it himself. We try to avoid discomfort,” he said.
