MINSK, 23 October (BelTA) – Constant improvement of Belarusian roads is a guarantee of the stable operation of the economy, BelTA learned from Belarusian Transport and Communications Minister Aleksei Avramenko. The minister congratulated current and former employees of automobile transport and road construction and maintenance enterprises on their professional holiday.
According to the minister, Belarus boasts a well-developed network of automobile roads and road infrastructure, which quality directly determines the speed of delivery of cargoes and passengers and the country's transit appeal. The constant improvement of the network of automobile roads is a most important state priority, a guarantee of the stable operation of the economy, of the enhancement of international ties, an essential component in the development of cities and towns.
Aleksei Avramenko noted that road construction enterprises face new tasks on a daily basis. Today the key ones include the improvement of the quality of reconstruction of motorways, the introduction of modern technologies and materials, and the improvement of road safety.
Transportation by road is a strategic branch of the national economy. It plays a huge role in efforts to bolster the country's industrial and technological potential. The industry's reliable, uninterrupted, and smooth operation affects every aspect of people's lives, Aleksei Avramenko stressed.
