MINSK, 31 May (BelTA) – A command post exercise for personnel of the 72nd combined training center is taking place in the 227th combined-arms exercise area of the Belarusian army on 31 May – 5 June. Commander of the Northwest Operational Command, Major-General Aleksandr Naumenko oversees the exercise. The exercise focuses on preparing for and carrying out a defensive battle, representatives of the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.
The exercise will focus on improving the cohesion of command and control bodies, troops, and army units in the course of a defensive battle. The ability of those being trained to organize combat operations and command their troops and assets will be improved.
A dynamic and rapidly changing situation will be created for those being trained. They will have to demonstrate unconventional approaches to combat training missions. They will have to make decisions fast without sufficient intelligence.
Justifications behind actions of the participants and their practical actions will be evaluated in the course of the command post exercise.
