MINSK, 20 June (BelTA) – The CIS Youth Electoral School will be held in Issyk-Kul Oblast of Kyrgyzstan on 23-28 June, BelTA learned from the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly (CIS IPA).
The event is organized by the International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of the CIS IPA Member States and the Bishkek branch of this institute. Taking part in this project will be undergraduate and postgraduate students and teachers of universities that are partners of the CIS IPA Council Secretariat, representatives of the election bodies of the CIS countries, employees and experts of the institute and its branches.
The program includes lectures, master classes, seminars, practical classes and round tables dedicated to the specifics of the electoral systems of the CIS countries, visualization of electoral data in geographic information systems, legal and ethical aspects of international election observation.
One of the key events will be a business game on parliamentary elections. Participants will simulate the preparation and conduct of an electoral campaign, present campaign materials of political parties and discuss election debates. The Tavrichesky international youth discussion club will discuss the topic “Electoral systems of countries of the world. How to choose the optimal electoral system?”.
