MINSK, 9 January (BelTA) – The CIS observation mission in Belarus is set to meet with presidential campaign teams, Leonid Anfimov, head of the staff of the CIS observation mission at Belarus’ presidential election, told the media on 9 January, BelTA has learned.
“Now we are planning to meet with the presidential campaign teams. If such an opportunity is provided, we will meet with the candidates for President of the Republic of Belarus,” Leonid Anfimov said.
The CIS observation mission began its work at the presidential election in Belarus on 18 December. This is the 13th mission to observe elections and referendums in Belarus and the 130th in the CIS.
Traditionally, the CIS observation mission carries out its functions strictly in accordance with the Belarusian legislation, respecting the sovereignty of the state, objectively assessing the process of preparation and conduct of the election campaign.
The presidential election in Belarus is scheduled for 26 January 2025.
