CIS Internal Affairs Ministers Council in session in Minsk

MINSK, 9 August (BelTA) – The 50th anniversary session of the Council of Ministers of Internal Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States began at the Palace of the Republic in Minsk, the Belarusian Internal Affairs Ministry told BelTA.

Heads and members of the delegations, top officials of the CIS Executive Committee, the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center, and the bureau for coordinating the fight against organized crime and other dangerous kinds of crime in the territory of the CIS member states were made familiar with exhibitions of vintage and modern vehicles, equipment, and products made by Belarusian enterprises for law enforcement agencies. Samples of uniforms, which every detail is designed with a purpose in mind, received strong interest. Military personnel of the honor guard company of the interior troops of the Internal Affairs Ministry welcomed the guests along the route.

In his welcome speech Belarusian Internal Affairs Minister Ivan Kubrakov mentioned the symbolism of the meeting, which is taking place in the year of the 80th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation from the Nazi invaders. “This exam meant to test the tenacity, courage, and heroism was passed thanks to the cohesion and unity of our nations. The invaluable memory that our fathers and grandfathers paid for with blood will forever remain a moral beacon in deeds and endeavors in the name of prosperity of our states. Today’s representative forum is aimed at discussing key matters of cooperation of law enforcement agencies of the CIS states and will allow once again sharing the cutting-edge practical experience in specific fields,” Ivan Kubrakov said.
