MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) - The 3rd meeting of the Coordinating Council of the CIS Electric Power Council took place online on 20 June, BelTA learned from the Economic Cooperation Department of the CIS Executive Committee.
The event was attended by representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, experts from leading energy companies and organizations, and also the CIS Executive Committee.
The participants discussed a number of topical issues related to the development of cooperation in the energy sector, including the contribution of low-carbon electricity to sustainable development of the CIS, cooperation in renewable energy, and the process of digital transformation of the electric power industry of the CIS member states.
A report on the activities of the CIS Electric Power Council in 2019-2021 was agreed to be submitted to the CIS Executive Committee for consideration by the CIS Economic Council in accordance with the established procedure. The participants of the meeting also considered the draft agenda for the 60th meeting of the CIS Electric Power Council, which is due in Kazakhstan in July 2022.
The Coordinating Council will next meet on 30 June 2022.
