MINSK, 2 October (BelTA) - The Central House of Officers in Minsk played host to a meeting of the CIS Coordination Committee of Metrological Services, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Defense Ministry.
The meeting highlighted joint work to improve metrological support of the armed forces of the CIS member states, training and retraining of metrologists in the interests of the CIS armed forces, and the organization of metrological support of the armed forces of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Uzbekistan.
Addressing the participants of the meeting with welcoming remarks, Deputy Defense Minister for Armament - Chief of Armament of the Armed Forces of Belarus Andrei Fedin said that the metrological support of the Armed Forces guaranteed completeness, accuracy and reliability of measurements carried out during maintenance and repair of weapons, military and special equipment, preparation for the intended use.
“At the same time, the acceptance of modern armament and military equipment for service in the CIS armed forces also require continuous improvement of their metrological support. It is achieved not only through the daily activities of national segments, but also through an active dialogue between the defense ministries of the CIS member states in this area. There is no doubt that the key role in the issues of metrological support of the armed forces of the CIS member states deservedly belongs to the Coordination Committee,” Andrei Fedin said.
At the meeting the CIS Coordination Committee of Metrological Services outlined the main directions of further work, took stock of its performance in 2024 and discussed the tasks for 2025.
