CIS customs services identify key areas of work to prevent law violations

MINSK, 19 October (BelTA) - A delegation of Belarusian customs officers headed by Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee Eduard Danilovich took part in the meeting of the CIS Committee of Heads of Law Enforcement Units of the Heads of Customs Services Council in Tashkent, BelTA learnt from the State Customs Committee of Belarus.

The meeting participants approved the action plan of the committee's strategy till 2030 and the roadmap of the regional law enforcement liaison office of the World Customs Organization on CIS Countries RILO-Moscow in 2022.

As part of the meetings of the working groups the committee experts considered the issues of combating criminal activities in international drug trafficking, improving information exchange about the revealed crimes, and elaborated approaches to the organization of joint activities to suppress international supply channels of drugs and psychotropics.

Another important topic on the committee's agenda was the specifics of investigating cases of administrative offenses in view of the changes in the administrative, criminal and criminal procedural legislation of the CIS member states. Participants identified and agreed on areas of further work to identify and suppress violations of customs legislation.

Customs officers shared their experience in training canine handlers and working dogs, and also the achievements of the canine units.
