CIS countries step up cooperation in combating transnational crime

MINSK, 24 June (BelTA) - The CIS headquarters in Minsk hosted a meeting of the expert group to coordinate the draft joint statement by the leaders of the CIS member states on cooperation in combating transnational crime, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee told BelTA.

The event brought together experts and representatives from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as from the CIS Internal Affairs Ministers Council, the Bureau for Coordinating the Fight Against Organized Crime and Other Dangerous Crimes on the territory of CIS member states, and staff of the CIS Executive Committee.

After reviewing submitted comments and suggestions, the participants finalized and largely agreed on the text of the draft joint statement.

The meeting materials will be sent to the governments of the CIS member states for approval. The next expert group meeting is scheduled for 22 July 2025.
