MINSK, 3 June (BelTA) – Astana will host a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units on 8 June, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.
The meeting will review the documents aimed at strengthening the cooperation to fight money laundering, financing of terrorism or proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
The council is also expected to discuss the plan for the operation Barrier and the procedure to be observed by financial intelligence units in developing and using the e-library of national lists of individuals and organizations involved in terrorist activities and financing of terrorism.
Other items on the agenda include the establishment of working groups on legal matters and on the development of further measures to counter the financing of terrorism in the CIS.
