MINSK, 30 October (BelTA) - A meeting of the CIS Chiefs of Staff Committee has ended in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. The Belarusian military delegation was headed by Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus, First Deputy Defense Minister, Major-General Aleksandr Volfovich, BelTA learned from the Defense Ministry.
The CIS Chiefs of Staff Committee considered a set of issues to improve the military-professional skills of military personnel, generalized the practice of training specialists in the field of humanitarian demining, approved the activities of the base organization - the International Mine Action Center of the Russian Armed Forces. The aviation safety record in the CIS armed forces over the past period was analyzed.
The participants of the meeting made decisions on 15 issues. Special attention was focused on the military and political situation and ways to ensure regional security in present-day conditions. The participants also considered activities of the Armed Forces of the CIS member states in 2021, the celebration of the 75th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, organization of air defense, logistics, and also the best practices in training of troops.
The agenda also included issues concerning further development of joint military systems. The heads of the delegations signed a plan of joint action of the CIS Armed Forces for 2021.
