MINSK, 15 August (BelTA) – The victory of the Chinese people in the war will remain forever etched in world history, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Zhang Wenchuan said during the opening ceremony of a photo exhibition commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and World War II at the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War, BelTA has learned.
The ambassador emphasized: “Welcome to the exhibition titled Remembering the Past, Building the Future, organized by the Chinese Embassy in Belarus in cooperation with Xinhua News Agency. We express our gratitude to the Belarusian government and the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War for their tremendous support in hosting this event. Exactly 80 years ago, on 15 August 1945, the Japanese aggressors announced their surrender.”
“After 14 years of heroic struggle, the Chinese people achieved a great victory in the War of Resistance against Japanese aggression,” the diplomat noted.
“This is a great triumph of national spirit and patriotism. It is a great victory for the Communist Party of China, which played a decisive role in this war. It is a great victory for the unity of the entire Chinese nation and for all the peoples of the world. This victory will remain forever etched in the annals of the Chinese nation and in the history of humanity’s struggle for justice,” the ambassador stated.
