China’s latest medical technologies on display in Great Stone park near Minsk

MINSK, 24 September (BelTA) - An exhibition of Chinese medical equipment is an opportunity to get familiar with the latest achievements and innovations of China in the field of medical technologies, Aleksandr Yaroshenko, head of the administration of the China-Belarus Great Stone Industrial Park, said during the exhibition launch ceremony in Great Stone, BelTA has learned.

"We are holding such an exhibition for the first time. It was preceded by a lot of preparation. We came up with the idea a few years ago together with our Chinese partners, and now the idea has come to fruition. I want to thank the Chinese partners and the Belarusian Healthcare Ministry for their active work to implement this idea. The exhibition provides a unique opportunity to get acquainted with China’s latest achievements and innovations in the field of medical technologies," Aleksandr Yaroshenko said.
"Belarus and China have always taken care of the health of their citizens, their well-being. As our Chinese friends say, there are five happinesses but the most important of them is longevity," he added.
More than 30 large companies from friendly China have presented samples of their products. "The program of the event is very rich. Leading Belarusian and foreign experts will discuss all topical issues at thematic forums, and participants and guests will find new opportunities for communication and promising partnership. This is a landmark event for the Great Stone," Aleksandr Yaroshenko said.
In his words, partnerships between the two countries in healthcare is an important part of the Belarusian-Chinese cooperation. “I am confident that the current exhibition will become an effective platform for bilateral interaction. It will open new opportunities to localize the production of Chinese medical equipment in Belarus and set up joint ventures. The Great Stone Industrial Park is a platform where all this can be implemented. This will significantly increase the availability of Chinese technologies for the Belarusian healthcare system, create new jobs, and economic ties between our countries will become even stronger,” the head of the park's administration explained.

According to Deputy Economy Minister Tatyana Brantsevich, Belarus is interested in Chinese business to take part in the development of the medical and pharmaceutical cluster. She emphasized that Belarus is the only state in the region where the conditions for the development of traditional Chinese medicine have been legislated.

“We offer our Chinese partners to deepen cooperation on joint technological development, to be proactive in medical production, pharmaceutics, biotechnology, and to participate in the modernization of Belarusian enterprises using healthcare innovations. Today, the park has about 20 residents implementing projects in these areas. I sincerely hope that the exhibition will make it possible not only to double this figure, but also to bring new energy to joint initiatives,” Tatiana Brantsevich said.
