The environmental agencies of China and Belarus maintain a very high level of interaction, Sergei Maslyak noted during the opening ceremony. "Within the framework of this interaction, we make decisions promptly as evidenced by the opening of the new center,” the minister stressed. “It has a great future. I believe it will become a platform for sharing scientific and technical potential. I see this interaction as an opportunity to gain new knowledge and experience. We are already learning new experience as we send our specialists to China and host Chinese representatives in our country."

The minister also announced a possible arrival in Belarus of a Chinese company which is interested in mining.

Ambassador Zhang Wenchuan pointed out the importance of Belarusian-Chinese cooperation in geology. "We have opened a new center together with our Belarusian friends," he noted. "The center will promote the Belarusian-Chinese cooperation in science."

He expressed confidence that in the future the center will play an important role not only on the bilateral platform between China and Belarus, but also within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The ambassador emphasized: "We believe that the center will become another impressive milestone in our cooperation. Today the heads of the Belarusian and Chinese research centers in geology signed an action plan for 2024-2025 in Minsk, which features many joint projects. I am sure that with their implementation our cooperation will achieve even greater results."
