MINSK, 4 June (BelTA) - Aleksandr Yaroshenko, head of the administration of the China-Belarus Great Stone Industrial Park, commented on the benefits the park gains from working with Chinese partners on the air of the First News TV channel, BelTA has learned.
According to him, few countries can do business as skillfully as China. In this regard, Belarus has much to learn from. "It is about building a successful business model and developing technologies - areas in which China has excelled. During the visit of the Belarusian head of state [to China], the parties discussed technological cooperation as well. For Belarus, as a country with a wide range of industrial development, this is a crucial aspect. We have our own competitive advantages, and our technologies are developed, but China has moved far ahead. To ensure we do not lag behind in the global development process, we must move forward together. This is precisely what we are doing at the Great Stone park," he emphasized.
Around 40% of the investors in the industrial park are from China. Chinese partners have invested over $300 million in 61 projects and brought technological innovations, developments, and equipment for production.
Several major clusters have been formed in the park. Chinese partners are playing a particularly active role in research and development. The medical cluster in the Great Stone park is also developing at a rapid pace. Aleksandr Yaroshenko emphasized that the park is working to attract both innovative and traditional Chinese medicine. "We would like to develop Chinese medical services as well, and we are introducing legislative initiatives to ensure that Chinese doctors feel just as comfortable here as they do in China," he noted.
