Children’s music band from Moldova gets home safely

GRODNO, 31 March (BelTA) – The children’s music band Rhapsody from Moldova, who was stuck at the Belarusian border for two days, has returned home safely, BelTA learned from Aleksandra Podolskaya, mother of one of the musicians.

Aleksandra Podolskaya said: “Everything is fine. We are now home and finally have an opportunity to get enough sleep. We arrived at about four in the morning.”

She added that her husband and her cat rejoiced the most when they came back.

The kids performed in Poland first and then in Minsk. However, their attempts to return to Moldova on the same bus were unsuccessful. The Polish border service refused entry to them. Then the Lithuanian border service did the same. The kids had to stay at the border the entire night. Grodno Oblast authorities did their best to help kids and adults on the bus. They were temporarily housed in a school not far from the Belarusian border checkpoint Kamenny Log in Oshmyany District. They had an opportunity to rest and enjoy hot meals. Several hours later they learned that Lithuania had authorized their passage across the border.
