MINSK, 27 January (BelTA) - Voter turnout during the presidential election held in Belarus on 26 January totaled 85.69%, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Igor Karpenko told the media in the information center, BelTA has learned.
According to the preliminary data, 6,903,994 voters were included in the voter lists. 5,916,834 voters received ballots, which accounted for 85.7% of citizens on the voter lists. 5,916,195 voters cast their ballots, or 85.69%. Thus, the president election is recognized valid,” Igor Karpenko said.
