CEC comments on agenda of Belarusian People’s Congress



MINSK, 16 April (BelTA) – The Belarusian People's Congress will be running for two days - 24 and 25 April. Its agenda is set by law, Chairman of the Belarusian Central Election Commission Igor Karpenko told journalists, BelTA has learned.

At the first sitting, the Belarusian People's Congress will elect the chairman, his deputy, and members of the Presidium. The agenda of the Belarusian People's Congress shall include the National Security Concept and the Military Doctrine," Igor Karpenko said

The agenda of the Belarusian People's Congress may still be clarified, he noted.

The Central Election Commission convened for a session in Minsk on 16 April. The CEC set the date for the first meeting of the Belarusian People's Congress of the seventh convocation on 24-25 April 2024 in Minsk. The election of delegates to the Belarusian People's Congress from civil society and the local councils of deputies were summed up.
