CEC: Different voters will get different number of ballots on single voting day

MINSK, 5 February (BelTA) – Deputy Head of the Department for Legal, Analytical and Methodological Work of the Office of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Ivan Tolkach told BelTA's The Nation Speaks project why different voters will receive a different number of ballots on the single voting day.

“The number of ballots will range from one to four. Some voters will receive one ballot. Those will be citizens of the Russian Federation permanently residing in Minsk. These voters will be able to elect members of the Minsk City Council of Deputies. Belarusian citizens living in rural areas will be able to choose their representative at the House of Representatives and the council of deputies of three levels: regional, district and village councils,” said Ivan Tolkach.

Belarusian citizens living in Minsk will get two ballot papers, added Ivan Tolkach: “They will be able to take part in elections to the House of Representatives (only citizens of Belarus are eligible to do this) and in elections of deputies of the Minsk City Council.”
