MINSK, 27 January (BelTA) - 114 citizens of the Republic of Belarus permanently residing abroad and included in the consular register took part in the voting Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Igor Karpenko told the media in the information center, BelTA has learned.
Yesterday, 26 January 2025, the presidential election of the Republic of Belarus was held. The campaign was carried out on the basis of the updated Constitution and the Electoral Code of the Republic of Belarus within the timeframe established by the legislation and the calendar plan of organizational measures for the presidential election approved by the Central Election Commission,” the CEC head said. “According to the preliminary data, 6,903,994 voters were included in the voter lists. 5,916,834 voters received ballots, which accounted for 85.7% of citizens on the voter lists. 5,916,195 voters cast their ballots, or 85.69%. Thus, the president election is recognized valid.”
