MINSK, 3 February (BelTA) – Efforts to resume transport service between Russia and Belarus can be more active, Head of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-Being [Rospotrebnadzor] Anna Popova told to the media in Minsk on 3 February, BelTA has learned.
“I think it is a big step forward [today's decisions of the Russian government to resume rail service and increase flight frequency with Belarus]. Our future projects will let us move more intensively in this direction,” Anna Popova said.
Everything depends “on the situation in our common epidemiological space”, she said. “We will do everything possible to make sure that people who live in the Russian Federation and in the Republic of Belarus stay healthy,” she said.
As BelTA reported earlier, passenger rail services Minsk-Moscow-Minsk, Moscow - Kalingrad, Kaliningrad - St. Petersburg via Minsk will be resumed on a reciprocal basis on 8 February 2021. The number of regular flights between Moscow and Minsk will be increased from three to five per week on a reciprocal basis on 8 February 2021. The air service from Rostov-on-Don and St. Petersburg to Minsk (one flight per week) from each airport will be resumed too.
