
MINSK, 23 June (BelTA) – Brest will play host to the International Theater Festival Belaya Vezha [White Tower] 29th edition from 5 to 12 September, the organizers told BelTA.
The playbill will feature 32 productions by 32 creative teams from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. Belarus will be represented by theaters from Minsk, Mogilev, Gomel, Bobruisk, and Brest.
“Traditionally, the festival will explore a wide range of genres: classical drama, interactive comedy, musical fairy tale and a mystical thriller, electro-platform noir, heroic epic and many others. Viewers of any age will find something to their taste. The performances will be shown in five languages: Belarusian, Russian, Armenian, Tatar and Kazakh,” the organizers said.
"In the year of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the festival will highlight the immortal feat of the people, who at the cost of unthinkable suffering preserved their independence," the organizers said.
The festival line-up includes 20 productions of the drama theater, six performances of the puppet theater, three - musical and musical-plastic art, solo performances, interactive comedy.
Tickets will go on sale on 24 June.
The organizers of the international theater festival are Brest Oblast Executive Committee, Culture Ministry, and Brest Academic Drama Theater.
