Brest Oblast increases PPE stockpile

MINSK, 12 January (BelTA) – Over the past week, healthcare facilities of Brest Oblast increased their stockpile of face masks, antiseptics, and disinfectants, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Trade Union of Healthcare Workers.

In the course of a week, the supply of face masks in Brest Oblast grew by more than 10% and the stock of disinfectants and antiseptics almost doubled, Belarusian Trade Union of Healthcare Workers said.

The monitoring held by the trade union showed that in the first week of 2021, Belarus' healthcare facilities had sufficient stock of personal protective equipment (PPE).

The reserve stockpile comprises more than 900,000 items of sanitary clothing, some 600,000 protective suits, more than 16 million single-use face masks, over 180,000 goggles, almost 1.5 million respirators, and more than 18 million medical gloves. Paramedics are provided with enough protective clothing suitable for work in cold weather.
