MINSK, 10 December (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Romania Andrei Grinkevich took part in the official presentation of the book Zabveniyu ne podlezhit [Must not be forgotten], representatives of the embassy told BelTA.
The book focuses on the crimes the Nazi committed against civilians during World War Two. The presentation was organized in the Russian Science and Culture Center in Bucharest. The presentation was timed to the 80th anniversary since the beginning of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and the 75th anniversary since the end of the Nuremberg trials.
One chapter of the book is dedicated to Nazi crimes in Belarus. The Belarusian ambassador made a speech during the presentation. He talked about the suffering and sacrifices of the Belarusian people during World War Two. He underlined the importance of preserving memory about the victory of the Soviet people and the allies. He spoke in favor of working together to build peace.
Ambassador of Russia to Romania Valery Kuzmin, representatives of Romanian academic circles and the general public, the Jewish community of Bucharest, Romanian mass media took part in the presentation.
Apart from that, the Belarusian ambassador talked to participants of the presentation and discussed individual aspects of the regional agenda and the international one.
