MINSK, 23 April (BelTA) - The Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research continues a series of presentations to introduce the results of the study "Values of Modern Belarusian Society”, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research (BISR).
BISR analyst Svetlana Aleinikova made another presentation in the Prosecutor General's Office on 22 April. Among the focal points she cited a combination of collective and individual values; transition of the interests of society from material goods to the priorities of a higher order: belonging, self-realization, striving for new social standards, quality of life; balanced perception by citizens of the country's historical past through the prism of Victory in the Great Patriotic War; aspiration of young people for leadership roles and self-realization.
“We see the growing external information influence with an aim to distort and politicize history, to impose alien messages, to undermine citizens' trust in the main social institutions, to divide society along ‘friend or foe' lines. The main targets are the things of the highest order: belonging, recognition, self-realization, while the main tools - playing on people's feelings and emotions, cultivating value judgments that give the key to mind control, especially that of youth," she said.
Similar presentations were made in the House of Representatives, Belarusian State University, the Academy of Pubic Administration under the aegis of the President of Belarus.
