MINSK, 8 October (BelTA) – The videobel.by portal maintains a steady interest among users. Thanks to the portal's built-in tools, viewers have a wide choice and thus an opportunity to save time, Director General of the Belarusian new agency BelTA Irina Akulovich said on the air of the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.
videobel.by maintains a steady interest among users. The average daily audience is about 27,000 views. Irina Akulovich stressed that any new project takes time to mature and today these indicators show positive dynamics.
"Any project takes time to win recognition and a loyal audience. The portal is going through exactly this process. First it must gain visibility. People must get used to it, understand how it works. So far, a short period has passed, but we already see good numbers," she said.
As BelTA’s director general noted, the resource provides a quick access to thematic fragments of long programs, which allows viewers to easily find the pieces they are interested in. If the viewer does not have the opportunity to watch the entire program, he can quickly find the episode he is interested in. In addition, the project team does not just work on the content, but seeks to preserve its meaning and structure, while promoting unique Belarusian programs.
According to Irina Akulovich, since 2020 Western media platforms have become unfriendly towards the Belarusian state media. Colossal efforts have been made to deprive the Belarusian media of the opportunity to convey their point of view. Western resources seek to restrict access to information that does not fit their agenda, which led to the blocking of YouTube channels and other platforms used by the Belarusian media. The director general cited an example of the Belteleradiocompany channels on YouTube being inaccessible in neighboring countries. According to her, this showed that foreign platforms are completely controlled by external forces. “We needed to develop a platform that we could fully control and keep secure,” she said.
“The videobel.by portal is actively developing and promoting content that has already attracted the attention of users from 111 countries. We receive most views from Belarus, Russia, the United States, Germany, Ukraine, Poland, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and even from Sri Lanka and Nicaragua,” Irina Akulovich said.
According to her, the presidential content traditionally takes the leading positions in all ratings. “If we talk about BelTA's YouTube channel, ten out of ten most viewed videos are content related to the head of state. For example, one of the videos posted several years ago has already collected 31 million views and continues to gain,” she said.
Online broadcasts on the videobel.by portal are of particular interest to users. “Streams of the Belarus 1 channel, ONT and the First News Channel are among the top views. Social and political programs and also special projects, including Vremya Pervogo, are also actively watched,” Irina Akulovich added.
