
MINSK, 16 March (BelTA) - BELTA's publishing projects got three awards of the 64th national competition “The Art of the Book”. The awarding ceremony took place at the 32nd Minsk International Book Fair on 15 March, BelTA has learned.
The Superposition. Parallel Worlds book won in the nomination “Strength in Truth and Unity”. According to Irina Akulovich, Director General of BelTA, the book is unusual and differs from many books presented at the exhibition. The Superposition. Parallel Worlds book was developed using the materials of BelTA’s photo exhibition Parallel Worlds.

The book is a collection of thematic essays written under the impression of this exhibition. State and opposition, actions and slogans, creation and destruction - this is what the exhibition and the book are about. The author of the book - Belarusian political scientist Sergei Musiyenko - shares his memories about the development of Belarus since 1994, talks about the “superposition” the country held in certain periods. Different positions of “parallel worlds” are shown with the help of posters and multiple evidences of history, including archival materials, statistics, newspaper clippings from the mid-1990s.

In the nomination “Science and Knowledge” the BelTA news agency was awarded the second place for the publication “Notarial System of Belarus: from Origins to Modernity”. The book is devoted to the history of the notarial system in Belarus. It contains new and little-known facts about notarial activity from the Middle Ages to the present day, demonstrating a vivid idea about the development of civil-legal relations at all stages of our history.
BelTA got the first place in the nomination “Photo View” for the publication Vitebsk-1050.

The national competition “The Art of the Book” is an annual event. It celebrates professionals in book creation, its art and design. The organizer is the Information Ministry of Belarus.
