
MINSK, 20 August (BelTA) – The Belarusian Telegraph Agency (BelTA) and Iran’s Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) have re-signed the memorandum of mutual understanding and cooperation in the presence of the heads of state, BelTA has learned.
The document was signed by BelTA Director General Irina Akulovich and IRNA CEO Hossein Jaberi-Ansari.
The parties will share up-to-date and authentic information messages and photo materials. The news agencies will more tightly cooperate in organization and information coverage of visits of heads of state and official delegations of Belarus and Iran as well as other interstate events, which take place in the two countries. Apart from that, interest in sharing the best practices and organizing mutual internships for reporters and photo correspondents was mentioned.
Irina Akulovich noted: “BelTA actively monitors Iran’s news agenda. One can see information messages about various events that take place in this country on our newswire. I am convinced that with the signing of the memorandum our interaction will become more active, residents of Belarus and Iran will become closer and will be able to learn more about each other.”
