MINSK, 10 March (BelTA) – Olga Grabenya, Head of the Trade and Marketing Department at the Belarusian state light industry concern Bellegprom (Bellegprom Concern) told BelTA’s Nation Speaks project where Belarusian fabrics, clothing, and footwear are most in demand.
Russia remains the primary and priority market for Belarusian products. It is the largest market for finished goods, ensuring stable demand. “We are set to increase our presence there. The EU, CIS, and Georgia have favorable customs regulations, making them promising sales markets,” Olga Grabenya said.
There are good prospects for exporting linen fabrics, cottonized flax fiber, and certain types of clothing and footwear to European countries. European consumers particularly appreciate the eco-friendliness and safety of these materials.
Asia and the Middle East are key sales destinations for linen fabrics, flax fiber, and synthetic materials, the department head added.
Africa and Latin America are the concern’s new markets with growing demand for clothing, footwear, and home textiles. “Promising destinations include Egypt, Algeria, Nigeria, South Africa, as well as Brazil and Argentina. In North America, there is interest in linen fabrics and premium- and eco-friendly clothing,” she said.
