MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) – The new Minsk-Urumqi-Minsk flight has turned out to be popular, the Belarusian national air carrier Belavia said at a meeting with representatives of China's tourism industry at the Chinese Cultural Center on 19 February. The Chinese delegation is visiting Belarus on a familiarization tour on 18-24 February, BelTA has learned.
Two months ago, Belavia launched its first regular flight to China, namely to Urumqi (Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region). This destination turned out to be popular among Belarusian and Chinese passengers. The Chinese delegation that arrived in Minsk included representatives of this region.
According to Belavia, the company is satisfied with the seat occupancy rate of this flight that became available in December 2024. “Not so much time has passed, but the first results are quite encouraging - over 2,300 passengers have already used the flight, the seat occupancy rate is about 70%,” representatives of the Belarusian airline remarked.
In addition, 13 tonnes of cargo was delivered along this route in December-January. As is known, in addition to passenger transportation, Belavia also transports cargo, including commercial cargo, permitted for transportation by aircraft.
