MINSK, 23 March (BelTA) – The Healthcare Ministry calls upon Belarusians to refrain from going abroad amid the coronavirus outbreak, Belarus' Deputy Healthcare Minister Yelena Bogdan told the media on 23 March, BelTA has learned.
“There is no need to go on vacation or any sightseeing trips now. People will create difficulties primarily for themselves and their loved ones. Of all the COVID-19 cases identified in Belarus, 41 have been imported. One of them is a foreigner. The rest were Belarusian nationals,” Yelena Bogdan noted.
All citizens who have returned from the countries that have been hit with the novel coronavirus are asked to self-isolate, not to visit the elderly, especially sick elderly, relatives, and public places. “Even if you have been examined at the border and tested negative, it does not mean you will not show symptoms in the following 14 days,” the deputy minister said. During this period a person can have a lot of social contacts
Yelena Bogdan also said that the People's Republic of China will hand over 1,008 panels for express tests to Belarus soon. “These are ready-made test systems that have been developed in China and have proved their worth,” she explained. Belarus has twice provided humanitarian assistance to China, and the transfer of such panels is a retaliatory step.
